Columbia Radiology Opens New Imaging Center in Manhattan

Manhattan, NY – The Department of Radiology opened its newest ColumbiaDoctors/NewYork-Presbyterian Imaging facility on the west side of Manhattan today, expanding the Department’s diagnostic expertise to patients and physicians who live and work in Manhattan.

The state-of-the-art outpatient imaging facility is located within Och Spine at New York Presbyterian/The Spiral at 504 West 35th Street, in the Hudson Yards neighborhood of Manhattan. It offers the most advanced spine imaging as well as a full array of diagnostic CTMRI, EOS (low-dose full-body X-ray), and X-ray exams.

"Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian/The Spiral is a state-of-the-art facility which brings together advanced imaging capabilities and multidisciplinary spine care, allowing us to provide world-class diagnostic imaging services as part of a seamless, patient-centered approach," said Ajay Gupta, MD, MS, professor of radiology and chair of the Department of Radiology at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. "Columbia Radiology is proud to play an integral role in delivering high-quality care to patients at this innovative center, improving access and outcomes for the communities we serve."

All imaging exams are evaluated within 24 hours by Columbia Radiology faculty, a renowned team of subspecialized radiologists who offer the highest level of diagnostic care and collaborate closely with referring physicians.

“Imaging is often the first step in a patient’s journey, and we understand how stressful the exams can be,” said Marc Brown, MD, associate professor of radiology and vice chair of outpatient imaging for the department. “Our goal is to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible, and this new location provides expanded services to our Manhattan patients.”

Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian brings together providers from both ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Medicine to provide state-of-the-art spine care, including physicians from neurosurgery, orthopedics, physical & rehabilitation medicine, pain medicine, and radiology.

The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services at 15 outpatient locations throughout Westchester County and Manhattan, in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
