ABR Alternate Pathway Program
The ABR Alternate Pathway Program for international medical graduates (IMGs) provides an exciting opportunity to complete four years of radiology training and become eligible to sit for the American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification exams.
Columbia Radiology’s alternate pathway trainees receive comprehensive training at a top academic medical center. Upon completion of the fellowship, trainees are eligible for ABR board-certification in radiology while satisfying other requirements for medical licensing.
Curriculum
Alternate Pathway trainees can create their individual pathways based on their personal interests/goals. We offer fellowship training and experience in the following subspecialties:
- Abdominal Imaging
- Breast Imaging
- Cardiothoracic Imaging
- Musculoskeletal Imaging
- Neuroradiology
- Nuclear Radiology/Nuclear Medicine
- Pediatric Radiology
Trainees' preferences will be given every consideration. We will do our best to accommodate pathway requests. However, trainees may be offered a pathway that is different from their initial request and will be expected to complete the accepted pathway.
Alternate Pathway trainees participate in board exam reviews along with the third-year diagnostic radiology residents in preparation for the ABR core and oral exams.
