Join us in welcoming four new members of our faculty who joined the Department of Radiology this summer and fall!
Zohaib Ahmad, MD
Assistant Professor of Radiology at CUIMC
Dr. Zohaib Ahmad joined the department in August as a member of the Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging. He is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an assistant attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian. After completing medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Ahmad went on to complete his residency in diagnostic radiology at Boston University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Ahmad is experienced in many aspects of musculoskeletal imaging—including sports injury, soft tissue and bone tumors, spinal imaging, and peripheral nerve imaging—as well as musculoskeletal interventions such as joint injections/aspirations and soft tissue and bone tumor biopsy.
Wendy Genestine, MD
Assistant Professor of Radiology at CUIMC
Dr. Wendy Genestine joined the department in August as a member of the Division of Emergency Radiology. She is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an assistant attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian. After graduating medical school from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, she completed both her diagnostic radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship here at Columbia.
Tova Koenigsberg, MD
Associate Professor of Radiology
Dr. Tova Koenigsberg joined the department in October as director of regional women’s imaging and a member of the Division of Breast Imaging. She is an associate professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an associate attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian. Dr. Koenigsberg graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed both her diagnostic radiology residency and a fellowship in women’s imaging here at Columbia, where she served as chief resident. Prior to joining the department, Dr. Koenigsberg served as medical director of outpatient imaging at the Montefiore Medical Arts Pavillion and was section chief of the Division of Breast Imaging at Montefiore Medical Center. She is experienced in all aspects of breast imaging and intervention and will serve as the director of women’s imaging at the Breast Center of NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
Edward Mtui, MD
Assistant Professor of Radiology at CUIMC
Dr. Edward Mtui joined the department in August as a member of the Division of Emergency Radiology. He is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an assistant attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian. Dr. Mtui completed medical school at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College in Tanzania. He completed an internal medicine internship at Berkshire Medical Center and a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School–Baystate. He attended neuroradiology fellowship training here at Columbia.
