Overview
Dr. Mari Tassarotti is an interventional radiologist in the Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is an assistant professor of radiology and an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. With expertise in minimally invasive procedures, she treats a wide range of medical conditions that include cancer, venous disease, and men's and women's health. Some of her specific interests include the management and treatment of hepatic malignancies, uterine fibroids and pelvic congestion syndrome in women, portal hypertension, venous disease, and biliary interventions.
Dr. Tassarotti completed her medical training in Integrated Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, where she served as a chief resident. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Prior to her medical training, Dr. Tassarotti received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology cum laude from Harvard College with a secondary concentration in Global Health and Health Policy.
Dr. Tassarotti has authored numerous research articles in medical journals ranging in topics from management of complex hepatic malignancies, pelvic venous disease, and management of deep venous thrombosis in oncologic patients. Additionally, Dr. Tassarotti is dedicated to graduate medical education and promoting gender diversity in interventional radiology, as seen through her published articles, talks given at national conferences, and participation in the Society of Interventional Radiology.
